আজকে আমরা Chronic inflammation এ Macrophage এর Role এর গল্প শুনবো ইন শা আল্লাহ।

• Macrophage is the central player of chronic inflammation.
• কেন? কি এমন জিনিস থাকে যে একদম Central player?

তাহলে Chronic inflammation এর definition খুজে দেখি তো কোনো উত্তর পাওয়া যায় কিনা?

• Chronic inflammation is a response of prolong duration in which inflammation, tissue injury,attempts at healing co exists in the same excessive manner.

অর্থাৎ, একদিকে inflammation, অন্যদিকে tissue injury, অন্যদিকে healing চলতে থাকে। আর এটার পুরো দায়িত্ব পালন করে Macrophage. তাহলে এই মজার mechanism টা জেনে আসি ইন শা আল্লাহ।

1) Classically macrophage activated by microbe, gamma interferon and then secret :

• a) ROS, Nitrogen species: killing of microbe.
• b) IL-1, IL-12, IL-23 : Causes inflammation.

2) Alternatively macrophage activated by IL-4,IL-13.and then secret :

a) IL-10, TGF-beta : That have anti-inflammatory action.
b) Growth factor, TGF-beta : Tissue repair and fibrosis.

তাহলে বুঝতেই পারছেন একেবারে খাপে খাপ মিলে যাওয়ার মতো।
